South Carolina Museum Store

Celebrating history with a modern twist

Celebrating the historical cotton mill building that houses the retail store while addressing modern retail design concerns like security and flexibility led to the development of an environment that is functional, adaptable and authentic. Throughout the store, guests engage with fixtures made of found objects and repurposed wood factory floors reminiscent of the industrial era in the cotton mill trade. Among the pieces of history, guests find locally made pieces to commemorate their journey discovering a different era.
